Free Stuff Scam On Craigslist

Updated on December 6, 2010

Free Stuff On Craigslist?

Free stuff scam on craigslist? With all the recent craigslist scams, you'd never think that there is a scam behind someone giving away something free. A friend of mine recently went on craigslist to purchase a computer and while browsing the site she went into the free stuff category. She saw an ad listing several boxes of U2 shirts for free, being a fan she emailed the person giving them away, it took 24 hrs to receive a response then the email stated that the shirts were already gone but she could still get hers by going to a certain website. The website she was directed too did indeed offer the shirts but she had to take surveys and complete like seven offers which she refused. My friend contacted the person who placed the ad telling him what a rat he was for doing that. This person was simply trying to make money as many are doing on the Internet but his method of false advertising is definitely not going to get him anywhere.

I wouldn't suggest getting something of use free on craigslist because more than often you have to go pick it up, there is a certain danger in going to someones home that you have never met to pick up something. If you are going to cruise the free ads you might actually find a few honest people and things you can use but always take someone with you during pickups.

Another tip for getting free stuff on craigslist is to make sure the person is of a reasonable distance so that you do not travel out of your way if a listing is not legit. This has happened to some craigslist users and the people who do it get a kick out of it which is a sick game to play because gas costs too much money these days.

Sex Still Sells On Craigslist

Pimps have now taken there business online, they can sell women's services directly to users with photos and descriptions. The way they do this now is entirely sneaky, instead of using the term sex, they use the term massage. Yes they are offering massages along with other services and the majority of these women look like teenagers, people strung out on drugs. I know that the law has caught onto this but what can they do? They cant simply do a sting on every female or male offering massages because they have no case there,no real proof to offer but they know it goes on. Here is what some of the ads are like in full detail and others just show bodies  with the words call me and listed phone numbers, its insane.

Hi there! Are you stressed out? Do you want to feel the touch of a warm hearted woman? Then let me help. I offer a great massage(this is all I offer please don't ask for anything else) that will leave you relaxed and stress free. I am offering outcalls only, to you in the comfort of your home or hotel....Please give me a call at ... I look forward
to talking to and seeing you:)
